Our office exclusively places tooth colored fillings called composites. Following decay removal, a resin substance is added in increments. The filling is then cured by a high intensity light to harden it. The filling is then shaped and sculpted to mimic natural tooth structure.

 Dental crowns are caps placed on top of damaged teeth. Crowns are used to protect, cover and restore the shape of your teeth when fillings don’t solve the problem. Dental crowns can be made out of metals, porcelain, resin and ceramics. Here at Duhon Dental we choose the type of crown best for you.

 A dental bridge is a permanent appliance that replaces a missing tooth or missing teeth. Bridges are made of crowns on either side of the missing tooth or teeth supporting the pontic (false tooth) and is cemented in place.  

 A tooth extraction is a dental procedure during which your tooth is completely removed from its socket. Sometimes, people refer to this as “pulling" a tooth. 

 Implants replace tooth roots with metal, screwlike posts and replace damaged or missing teeth with artificial teeth that look and function much like real ones. Dental implant surgery can offer a welcome alternative to bridgework or dentures that do not fit well. 

A root canal is essentially a filling for the inside of the tooth that is needed when the decay is so deep it reaches the nerve. The inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then sealed off.
