Dr. Anthony "Tony" DeNavarra

Dr. Tony graduated from the University of Florida School of Dentistry in 1990. Since then, Dr. Tony has been on the cutting edge of implantology and advanced bone grafting. He took numerous courses throughout his tenure and is considered to be the best general dentist for implants in Pinellas County, performing difficult cases which most general dentists would have referred to an oral surgeon. 

Another of Dr. Tony's passions is his mission work, of which he has been doing for over thirty years. He has led numerous dental focused mission trips to Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica where he has provided life-changing care including sinus lifts, autogenous block grafts from the chin and the ramus of the mandible to build ridge height and width, segmental osteotomies, and more. 

He pioneered and gave a tabletop presentation of our new method of lifting the sinus for single tooth implant replacement using the piezosurgery at the ICOI conference in New Orleans in April, 2020. 

Born and raised in St. Pete, Dr. Tony is an outdoorsman at heart. He enjoys flats fishing and guiding for snook, redfish, trout, cobia, and triple tail. He owns a camp with cabins on a river in Gulf Hammock, where he raises animals and is actively involved in conversation. He has put more than 100 Eastern wild turkeys, 1,000 bob white quails, and over two dozen peacocks on the land. He has been careful to keep the local species constant with the rest of the inhabitants of the area. 

Dr. Tony is also a family man, enjoying spending time with his wife Mary. They have been married since 1978 and have four beautiful children: three sons and one daughter. Tony and his daughter are both musicians, and enjoy playing together. 

Both Tony and Mary are registered paleontologists with the state of Florida and have been collecting fossils since 1984. They are currently building a museum of fossils which include mammoth molars, mammoth sinus bones, mastodon teeth, various dinosaur teeth, giant ground sloth teeth and more.
