Meet Dr. Megan

Born and raised in Louisiana, Dr. Megan is a proud Louisiana State University "Tiger," becoming an alumna from their School of Dentistry in 2021. She was recently awarded a Fellowship from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists for her work in implants. Dr. Megan has also taken continuing education courses in endodontics in order to provide molar root canals to patients, a procedure most general dentists refer to specialists. She is currently working to become a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, a feat achieved by only six percent of dentists. 

Dr. Megan met her husband, Dr. Gerard "Gerry" Scannell while attending LSU School of Dentistry. Following graduation, she moved to Gerry's hometown of St. Pete. Her favorite thing is spending time with Gerry and their family. They recently welcomed their first child, a daughter, in August 2024. 

Dr. Megan also enjoys reading, hiking, and cooking. A true Cajun woman, Dr. Megan can make any authentic Cajun dish including gumbo, jambalaya, etouffee, and "dirty rice." Dr. Megan is often being heard telling patients "food is my love language" and she enjoys trying new foods and learning new recipes.
